Linda Low grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in history, Linda moved to Europe, where she taught school In Germany, France, and the Netherlands for four years. She met and married her husband Rob there. Within a year of their return from Europe, they moved to the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in Washington, DC, where they've lived ever since. She taught history at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School from 1970 to 1980. Linda soon became active in community affairs and was elected to the Mount Pleasant Advisory Neighborhood Commission and served as Chairman of the Commission for two terms in the early 1980s. Her lifelong interests in history, architecture, and interior design soon led her to help found Historic Mount Pleasant, Inc, and to work with the DC Preservation League to attain federal historic district status for the Mount Pleasant, Cleveland Park, and Kalorama Triangle neighborhoods. Linda then made a career change to work as a consultant in historic preservation, where she assisted developers with design and regulatory compliance in the restoration and conversion of historic buildings in most of Washington's historic neighborhoods. In 1985, her love of people and interest in architecture, restoration, and renovation led her to real estate. She immediately fell in love with the profession and soon became one of the area's top agents.
