Meet Linda Low

Linda Low grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee. After graduating from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville with a degree in history, Linda moved to Europe, where she taught school In Germany, France, and the Netherlands for four years. She met and married her husband Rob there. Within a year of their return from Europe, they moved to the Mount Pleasant neighborhood in Washington, DC, where they've lived ever since. She taught history at Bethesda Chevy Chase High School from 1970 to 1980. Linda soon became active in community affairs and was elected to the Mount Pleasant Advisory Neighborhood Commission and served as Chairman of the Commission for two terms in the early 1980s.

Her lifelong interests in history, architecture, and interior design soon led her to help found Historic Mount Pleasant, Inc, and to work with the DC Preservation League to attain federal historic district status for the Mount Pleasant, Cleveland Park, and Kalorama Triangle neighborhoods. Linda then made a career change to work as a consultant in historic preservation, where she assisted developers with design and regulatory compliance in the restoration and conversion of historic buildings in most of Washington's historic neighborhoods.

In 1985, her love of people and interest in architecture, restoration, and renovation led her to real estate. She immediately fell in love with the profession and soon became one of the area's top agents. Now with Long & Foster Real Estate, Inc., Linda heads one of the area’s top teams in residential real estate, servicing Washington DC, Maryland and northern Virginia.

Thinking of selling? Linda’s extensive knowledge of design, restoration, and construction is constantly put it to use in helping clients prepare homes for sale. She’ll be with you every step of the way as you prepare for the open market. Linda and her team offer more than 30 years of combined experience, expert staging and pricing, extensive marketing services, a top-ranked website for maximum exposure, and a knowledge of the market that is second to none. Her customized marketing plan is designed to sell your property for the highest possible price in the shortest amount of time.

Looking to buy? Linda and her team know this area. They will guide you through the entire process, from initial research to final closing. They will help to determine what the best value is for you within your comfort zone in the area you want. And once you’ve found your home, Linda’s design expertise can help to make your new house feel like home.

Real Estate Tips
Working With An Agent >Tell Your Agent

Good communication will enable you to get the best service from the real estate agent who is helping you to buy or sell a home. If you have any concerns, make them known not just to your spouse, your mother and your co-workers, but to the person who can do something about it--your agent!

Real estate sales are extremely complex transactions which involve negotiating large sums of money and turning over the largest single asset most individuals will ever own. Since the possibilities for misunderstandings are great, professional real estate agents work hard to ensure that the transaction will go smoothly. This requires clear communication between the buyers and the sellers and other agents.

Most of the breakdowns in real estate transactions result from vague or inadequate communication prior to the signing of the contract. Express any concerns that you may have and ask about anything you don't understand--the only foolish question is the one that isn't asked!
